Jerry was well composed. He needed a new year resolution because he wanted to put a finger on where the problem of not getting a girl was coming from.
Elizabeth also arrived looking good. She was slim and dark in complexion. She didn't mind the way students were looking at her as she entered the devotion ground. Catherine's mind rested when she saw her. "At least i have seen a reliable person" She thought and gave her a smile.
After singing and praying, Karina stepped down for Nath to give a speech or information. Students were murmuring when he stood before them. "Silent, please" He said and attention was given to him. He continued, "I'm really happy that we all have returned from several places back to school. Is not by our power but God made it to be so.."
Karina monitored his eyes as the speech was going on. He was occasionally looking at Catherine without noticing her own presence.
Nath continued, I can see some beautiful faces with beautiful Christmas hair which will not be tolerated from next week" Student began to giggle and some smiled. The storbun ones hissed and swore not to loose their beautiful hair.

The devotion ended peacefully except that Nath spent much time looking at Catherine instead of Karina.
Only few students were found in each classrooms because that was the first day at school. Jerry moved close to Karina and tapped her at the back.
"Hi, Jerry" Karina looked up with a smile.
"Welcome and happy new year" He replied and took a stool. "What about your friend?"
"You mean Rose?"
"Yes"
"According to Timothy, He won't be coming"
"Alright" Jerry went silent. Karina was beginning to sense something different about him. Sense Rose rejected him, he never for once came close or asked of her. "Is like you have a new year resolution" She broke the silence and looked straight into his eyes.
"What scares you from me?"
"Sorry?"
"I mean what is that thing that you don't like about me?"
The question came unexpectedly to Karina that made her giggled in thought. She was smart enough to know that Jerry needed someone to talk to. She looked at him and said, "Everybody is perfect on their own way. You can never be who you are not, so some people may like or dislike your character but someone that loves you will love you without looking at your flaws."
Though, Timothy wasn't expecting those words from Karina but it really help him. "Really?" He replied with a smile.
"Yes" Karina smiled back.

SS3A was more populated than its opposite class. Elizabeth sat together with Catherine. Nath and Timothy joined them in conversation. Some students were also behind in a group chatting too.
"..I can see all the fried rice and chicken you consumed with no mercy during xmas on your cheeks" Nath jokingly told the two girls and all laughed. Elizabeth was beginning to feel like a girl for the attention given to her by Nath and Timothy.
"I wasn't even allowed to go out on Christmas oh" She said.
"Me too oh" Catherine supported.
Timothy and Nath looked at each other wondering the person that went out during the Christmas since the girls have denied.
"Me three oh, i didn't go out" Timothy jokingly said.
"And me Four, nobody went out" Nath also interfered and all laughed again.
Timothy could see Catherine not looking bright after some moment. "Are you ok?" He asked her.
"Do you know if Alex will be coming to school?"
"No, he won't. Is that why you are sad?" Catherine nodded her head positively.
"Don't worry, he will be here tomorrow" Nath assured him and dusted dust out from her sweater. Karina who was coming into their class saw them and went back immediately without Nath's notice. But Catherine saw her, as a girl she knew what she must be thinking.

School was over, nothing much was done, Karina took her bag, "Bye, Jerry" She said and went out after Jerry responded. She was surprise to see Catherine standing outside waiting for her. She ignored her but Catherine called her back. "Can we be friends? I'm not your enemy" She said but Karina didn't say i word and went home.
