Rose and Alex didn't bother much about the cold weather of the harmatan because it was no worst than what they experienced in U.S.A. But a cup of hot tea increased their body temperature. They were i the diningroom taking their breakfast while the television was showing a falling snow in London and that reminded them how worst the weather is over there.
"I don't think i will still go back there" Alex Zipped a hot tea.
"Why?" Rose asked.
"The weather there is a mess. Someone can get frozen up one day."
"I that the only reason?"
"I love Africa and black people" Alex concluded and took his school bag.
"Won't you wait for me?" Rose requested and followed him immediately.
Their mother watched them through the window of her room and wondered why they weren't wearing sweater.

Students were more populated than the previous day. School activities began as usual. Karina had refused to greet Nath or went close to him. Catherine was still anticipating to see Alex. She sighted him coming with her sister and she was filled with happiness. She didn't know what to do or say, "Should i run to hug him? Or should i pretend as if i haven't seen him?" She thought and dressed her uniform properly. Karina also saw them coming, she ran out and gave them a hug. Catherine was beginning to get jealous as she saw Karina hugging Alex.
"Happy new year!" Karina shouted.
"The same to you" They replied at the same time.
"Obodo Oyibo is making you guys more beautiful and handsome oh"
"Don't even say that because I'm not going back there again" Alex said and headed to his class.
"Don't mind him" Rose put her hand around Karina's shoulder and they entered inside the classroom. Jerry was reading a book when they entered. "Happy new year Rose" He greeted.
"Hi, Jerry. The same to you" Rose replied and they stopped at his locker.
"I asked about you yesterday"
"Me?" Rose looked at Karina who nodded her head in agreement. "That's so good of you. Thank you. I hope you enjoyed the Christmas" She asked.
"Yes, i did. Thank you"
"Don't worry I'll get you a gift"
"Really?"
"Yes" Rose touched him on the shoulder and they departed.
Nobody was in SS3A except Catherine and Elizabeth. Timothy and Nath were outside doing morning duties while teachers were on their way coming. Alex couldn't believe his eyes as he entered. Both stared at each other for a long time.
"Alex" Catherine called in a low voice. He walked up to her without answering and touched her hair.
"I miss you" Catherine said. Elizabeth was at a corner watching both of them.
"I miss you more" Alex replied and hugged her tightly for a long time and later kissed her. Elizabeth wondered how it is to kiss a boy because she had never done it before. She became jealous.

Before school was over, Karina told Rose how Catherine was trying to snatched Nath away from her the previous day.
"Don't call it snatch" Rose told her and continued, "The fact that you saw her looking at you and Nath through the window and Nath dusting out something from her sweater doesn't mean she wants to snatched your man away from you"
Karina was quiet. She was confused without knowing what to believe again.
Rose noticed it and continued, "You are just being jealous. She's a nice girl, we should accept her friendship. If you think she's your enemy, bring her closer then know what she's up to" Karina was still quiet.
At that same time, Alex came into the class with Catherine. They were holding hands together. Students were making noise and seemed uninterested. Everybody minded their business.
"Good day" Alex threw the greeting in the air for any person to receive it.
"Welcome" Karina replied and looked at Catherine. She stretched her hand to shake her. Catherine shook her hand with no fear and but smiled at each other.
"I'm sorry for the other day" Karina said and Alex began to wonder what they were talking about.
"Is ok, i did what any girl would have done. I hope we are friends now" Catherine held Alex tightly.
"Yes, we are" Karina replied..
