Though Examination had ended but school was still on for one more week. Students had gone home thinking that they will not come back to school again. But the principal made it specifically clear that every students should continue coming to school especially the prefects till thE last day of the following week.

On that Friday evening, Alex laid on the bed knowing fully well that Catherine will be thrown into the prison the next day. "What should i do?" He thought. He went to his sister's room. Rose was always found making use of her laptop. Alex laid down flat on the floor without saying anything.
"What's it?" Rose asked and looked at him. "I have told you to forget about Catherine, Mummy will never release the money" She added.
"No, she must release the money" Alex replied.
"Then how do you intend to do that?" Rose closed her laptop and Alex stood up..

At the office, Alex's mother was attending to a business partner. Her office was a typical example of a big woman whose husband is doing very well in United State of America.
After the business partner had gone, her phone rang. It was Rose calling.
"Rose, how are you?" The mum asked.
"Mummy! Please come oh, Alex is dying!!" Rose shouted.
"What?! My son!!" She picked up her car key, with a high speed she drove home.
Malam opened the gate in a hurry. "Madam, Alex don die fa" He told Mrs Nduka as she came down from the car.
"My son can never die!" She ran inside the house and saw Rose crying seriously. "Where is Alex?" She asked curiously.
"He's in the room" Rose replied in tears.
The mother banged Alex's room opened and saw Alex with a rob tied around his neck and the other end on the ceiling fan.
"Please, my child, what's it?" The mother asked.
"Mummy, i want to die" Alex replied in tears.
"Please, don't kill yourself, i will do anything you want me to do for you. Just get that from there" The mother pleaded.
"Promise to bail my friend from the police station" Alex demanded.
"I promise, i will, just get down nah"
"Mummy, promise me again" Alex insisted.
"I promise to bail your friend from the police station. Just down please!" The mum reassured him before Alex got down from the chair he was standing. The mother hugged him tightly immediately he came down and Alex gave Rose a sign that their plan has worked.
Mrs Nduka and her two children sat in the parlour silently.
"Where is the mother of that your friend?" The mum broke the silence.
"She must be at home" Alex replied.
"Go and call her. I need to speak with her" The mum demanded and Alex ran out.

The day was getting dark, crickets were making noise telling every person that night is at the corner. Alex walked briskly to Mrs Luis's house. He knocked on the door but nobody responded. He decided to wait for her to come back from wherever she had gone to. Suddenly, Mrs Luis came back.
"Good evening, ma" Alex greeted.
"What are you doing here by this time of the night?" She asked.
"My mum said i should call you"
"Your mum? Why?"
"It is in respect to the 1million naira you are asked to pay"
Mrs followed Alex immediately without entering her house first.

BMS was dark and quiet except the street lights which made it a little bit bright.
Mrs Luis was told to sit down by Mrs Nduka. Alex and Rose were also sitting.
Mrs Nduka started, "My son here told me that your daughter is in the police cell for committing an offence. He has been disturbing me and even wanted to kill himself today just for me to bail your daughter.." Mrs Luis looked at Alex piteously.
Mrs Nduka continued, "So i have decided to bail your daughter"
"My God will bless you in a million times" Mrs Luis knelt down in tears.
"Please, stand up" Mrs Nduka told her.
"We will go to the police station early tomorrow morning before they take her to the court" Mrs Nduka said.
"Thank you very much, ma" Mrs Luis replied and went out to the darkness.
Rose was speechless as she watched everything happened like a magic and Alex looked at her happily. "Thank you, mummy" Both hugged their mother.
