Mr Tonye sat down on the visitors' chair provided in principal's office while his children stood beside him with their hands folded.
The principal leaned forward and asked, "What can i do for you sir?"
"These are my children" He pointed at them and continued, "It came to my notice that your school makes the best WAEC result, that's the reason i want them to be registered here."
"Ok" The principal replied and looked at the children. "What's your name?" She asked the girl.
"My name is Esther Tonye" She replied looking at the principal. The principal also asked the boy, he replied and said, "My name is Benjamin Tonye"
The father shook his head. "Why are you omitting your tribal names" He asked the children.
"Don't worry" The principal smiled and registered them.

Jerry was a bit dried after Elizabeth cleaned his wet cloth. All with Catherine stood beside the window watching the football players. Suddenly, Mr Tonye came out from the principal's office with his children. Elizabeth could see Jerry looking at Esther and she felt unwanted. "What dose she have that i don't have" She wondered in thought.
"They are going" Timothy said aloud for everybody to hear.
"Is like they are new comers" Catherine added.
"Yes, i think so. The girl is beautiful" Jerry said aloud and Catherine looked at Elizabeth knowing fully well she will be angry and disappointed at Jerry's words.
"I'm out of here!" Elizabeth went out angrily. Jerry didn't know why she decided to leave them. He asked, "Where are you going?"
"Nowhere" She replied. Immediately, Mr Tonye drove out with his children.

The bell was rung for school over, and also for students to gather around in front of the principal's office. Everybody knew that whenever they are gathered in such manner, an information wants to be passed to them by any of the teachers or the principal herself.
Alex was standing close to Catherine, Karina to Nath, Timothy to Rose and Elizabeth and Jerry barely saw themselves.
"Nathaniel Igwe!" The principal called and all the students kept quiet in anticipation on the reason Nath was called in such manner by the principal.
"I'm beside you, ma!" Nath shouted and jumped on the higher varander the teachers were standing.
"See those junior students over there playing, get them here" The principal instructed and Nath ran out.
"Listen to me all of you" She said and continued, "Another term has come. I don't want to witness another story also, so, if you know that which is evil, run away from it. And if you know that which is good, do it with a good teenage heart.."
"Looked at them, ma" Nath came back with the students.
"Kneel them down!" She replied and faced all the students again, "SS3 students will be writing their WAEC this term. And i want to tell you that you can never pass the exam without knowing the secret.."
Students were beginning to wonder the secret she was talking about.
The principal continued, "The secret is; to study your books. No student can pass examination with a magic! The only magic is to study! I hope I'm making myself clear?!"
"Yes, ma!" The students chorused.

School was over, students headed to their different ways. Nath and Karina made sure all the classes were properly locked as usual. It was time for them to go. They could hear the birds singing and sound of moving vehicles on the main road.
"I saw i car and some people coming out from it" Nath raised a topic. "Who were there?" He asked Karina.
"I don't know, it seems like they are new comers" She replied as both held each other's hands going home.
"Ok, we shall find out tomorrow" Nath concluded.

Jerry couldn't be himself when he got home. He started drawing the face of Esther-Since he was an Art student, he was very good in drawing. He made a picture that looks exactly like Esther. "Oh, she's so beautiful" He said aloud.
The father who overhead him opened his door and asked, "Who is beautiful?"
"Nobody, papa" He hid the paper behind him.
"So, u have started talking to yourself. Don't get mad oh" He closed the door..
