Catherine needed to be sure of what she was feeling. She went to the hospital for a pregnancy test. She Sat in the reception waiting for her result. Patients who wanted to exercise their legs where moving to and fro passing in front of Catherine every minutes. She could see nurses moving up and down with a stainless tray. She didn't know what to think.
"God, if I'm pregnant, what will be the result? Will Alex accept it? Even if he accept it, what of my mother? Oh God! She will kill me! Should i do abortion? Oh, i have never done it and don't know how they do it. I even heard its deadly. How will Alex's parents feel about it..?"
"Miss Catherine!" A voice interrupted her and she looked back. It was a nurse calling. She stood up in anticipation. "God, let it not be real" She thought as she walked to the nurse's office.
"Sit down miss Catherine" The nurse said.
"You can just call me Catherine"
"Okay, sorry for that" "How old are you?"
"I'll be twenty in few months time"
"Okay, this is your result and it's positive. You are a month and two weeks pregnant"
Catherine collected the result and glanced on it. The nurse watched her as tears dropped down from her eyes.
Catherine stood up and walked towards the door as if she was in slow motion.
"Miss Catherine!" the nurse called her. She stopped and looked back in tears.
"Don't abort that baby" the nurse said. She turned back and opened the door.
At the reception, she saw pregnant women sitting in a roll waiting to be attended by the doctor.
"Is this what I'm going to pass through?" Catherine thought as she went outside the building..

Timothy was getting familiar with the new environment of Federal University of Technology Owarri. He was studying Micro Biology. He was in his cool character. There was no cause for alarm except his course-mate, Favour, who he helped out with an assignment and automatically became her friend. Timothy knew the friendship was becoming too close that it wanted to turn into a relationship.
He was on his way to the hostel when his phone rang. He picked it up. It was favour.
"Hello, Mr David Timothy"
"Favour, how are you? I have told you times without number to stop calling me that"
"And i have told you times without number that i won't stop calling you that. Where are you by the way?"
"On my way from lectures to the hostel"
"Have you eaten?"
"No, i will do that when i get home"
"Can i come over to prepare something for you? Don't even say 'no' oh"
"As you wish. I will be waiting"
The call ended. Timothy began to wonder what will finally happen between him and Rose if what Favour is thinking gets to be a reality one day. He had listened to some of his male friends who had always discouraged him to stop playing a lover boy and face the reality of school life.

Elizabeth was termed a black queen in her outward appearance. She related with so many of her friends and adjusted with the school environment and life. She was in the apartment her father, Mr Doye rented for her when her phone rang. It was Catherine.
"Hello, baby girl!" Elizabeth shouted.
"Hi" Catherine replied in a low voice.
"You are not sounding good. Anything the matter?"
"I'm in trouble"
"Babe, talk to me"
"I'm pregnant"
"Jesus!" Elizabeth jumped up. "Who is responsible?" She asked.
"Is Alex"
"Heeh! Babe, but why now? You should have told him to use protection"
Elizabeth could hear her crying from the other side of the phone.
"Now, is Alex aware of it?"
"I have not told anybody but you. I'm even afraid he might reject it"
"Just tell him and see his reaction. I'm so sorry dear. One more thing, don't harm the innocent baby"
"Okay, thanks"
The line went dead.

Catherine needed to talk to Alex. She remembered the number he gave her to call. She quickly dialed the number. It rang severally without picking up. She got more worried.
On the next day, she went to school and told Hannah that she is pregnant.

"I told you" Hannah said. "Who is responsible?" She asked.

Catherine told her how she met Alex, but omitted the part of lesbianism..
