Sandra was still trying to understand why Frank reacted the way he did the other day. She waited for him to come back again. Suddenly, Frank entered and found her sitting in the cushion. Sandra didn't bother to welcome him as usual. Frank stared at her for a while. "Sandra" he called.
"Yes, welcome" she answered without looking at him.
"What's your problem? Have you lust your manners?"
"So, you wanted me to welcome you so that you can shout at me again abi?!"
"Am i the one you are talking to like that?!" he moved forward.
Sandra remained quiet.
"Have you gone nuts?!" he shouted and gave her a slapped.
"Jesus!" Sandra shouted and stood up. "Did you just slap me?!" she asked controlling her tears.
"And what will you do? Listen, let me tell you, better behave yourself whenever you see me or you will not like me" he began to walk into his room. The tears finally dropped from Sandra's eyes. Though her late brother, Kenneth did a very bad thing to her but she began to miss him because if he was to be alive, no man will lay hands on her and go free. She began to cry.
Amanda and Henry had a lovely time before she went home feeling guilty. She couldn't break up with Henry neither could she stop thinking about Alfred. She went home and found Alfred coming out from their compound. Their house was better than Henry's. Though, it was a bungalow but it had a fence.
"Where are you coming from?" Alfred asked her.
"Ah, bros, relax!" Amanda exhibited her character.
"I have told you to stop calling me that"
"But, no be bros you be?" she smiled and wanted to hug him but Alfred pushed her away.
"What is it? I was only joking!" she said.
"Don't joke with me in that way!" Alfred replied angrily. Then, Amanda remembered Henry who understands her very well. "Henry, would have just laughed over it and kiss me knowing that it was a joke" she thought.
"Now, where are you coming from?" Alfred asked again.
Amanda wanted to walk in but he held her arms. She looked at him angrily and said, "Don't touch me again"
Alfred dragged her to his front. Before he could say something, Amanda's phone rang-Henry was calling to see if she had reached home. Alfred watched her brought out the phone but didn't pick the call.
"Who was that?" he asked.
"None of your business" she replied and walked inside the compound by force. Alfred stead at her angrily and also left.
There was a long table with plates of foods round it. Mr and Mrs Thompson, Mr and Mrs Dickson, Ella and Raymond sat round the table eating and having conversation.
"So, you are really through with your service" Mr Dickson asked Raymond.
"Yes, sir" he replied.
"You are now a man"
"Thank you"
Mr Thompson cleaned his mouth and said, "I want him to work in one of my companies or that of Phybanko's"
"Oh, phybanko, the one living in U.K" Mr Dickson said.
"Yes"
"No, he should rather work in my company"
"Are you people now dragging my son?" Mrs Thompson said jokingly and all laughed.
"In fact, he will neither work in any of your companies" Mrs Dickson supported. All remained silent again.
"After then comes the marriage between him and my daughter, Ella" Mr Dickson said.
"Yes of course" Mr Thompson agreed.
"I hope you will like to marry my daughter?" Mrs Dickson asked Raymond and all waited to hear his reply. He glanced at yellow sisi, Emmanuella and his father who was staring at him with bulged eyes. He knew that the dinner won't end up well again and his father will be embarrassed once more if he say no. He just wanted peace to reign at that moment so he said, "Yes, i will like to marry her" there was no excitement on his face. Even Ella knew that it wasn't from his heart but she kept on smiling.
"That's my boy!" Mr Thompson shouted.
"I knew he will say yes because they have come a long way" Mr Dickson said and they laughed and ate happily.
FEW HOURS LATER
Raymond met her mother inside her room where she was arranging her clothes. He gently closed the door. The mother could see a sad expression on his face.
"Mummy, can i talk to you?"
"What is it my son?" she asked without looking at her.
"Mummy, i love Marvelous so much.."
The mother stopped and looked at him. "Who's Marvelous?" she asked.
"The girl i brought the other day"
"My son that girl is nobody"
"Mummy, she's somebody to me and i love her!"
"You don't know what your saying. How can you look at Ella and choose to marry who i don't know. Ella has been for you ever since"
Raymond was speechless. He thought his mother will understand him because he knew his father wouldn't want to hear him say such a thing.
